What did you do to your VW today?

Collected Tallulah after her service and MOT (no advisories) and drove her to visit TimV and get some bodywork repairs carried out.

Set the dashboard clock to the correct time
Got the radio working again (a connection had worked loose)
replaced the two tube lights in the back with LED strips (about 2 hours)
fixed one of the window blinds which kept coming off due to a hole being too big (very small raw plugs cut down to fit)
cleaned off a patch of rust, applied rust remover then later KURUST ahead of repainting tomorrow
cleaned the outside rug which was put away wet at Eskdale
looked out some new stickers I had in a drawer

tried to touch up the 4 places where the pop top rubs on the roof. Got one done but defeated by the wind. Lots of Candy White going off in the air instead of onto my van.

Oh well will try again tomorrow. It does make a good job though.

Then spray the black trim around your pop top with silicone spray - it causes less friction between roof and pop top.

Finished prepping Merlot for sale. Ready for her next family - this is a lovely Airbus - spent the last week together and she's really rather special!!

Lever off the tap top and clean out the micro switch in the tap to finish the pump repair that wasn’t done properly at the garage (thanks to the forum for the instructions on this!)

accuracy so long as the needle moves and passes the MOT that's all I hope for.

a bit more painting. Oh for a bigger garage height wise. Our last garage was custom built so the van fitted inside. Now I am fighting the wind and losing. Current garage is a big double but I would need the pop top off to fit.

What size is your opening, ignoring the frame around your door? (brick to brick width and floor to little height ) we have a double garage with two standard openings. We had custom side opening barn doors made and fitted with thin side frame and no top lintle to maximise height. We can send details if that would be helpful? Keeps T2D2 nice and dry.

Can't check height at present but we did drive Sadie up to the opening. We have an automatic garage door which takes up a chunk of space. As it's only for painting etc we would not bother going to the effort of a new door,

(we did keep the van in the old garage up in Scotland over winter but it's milder here so she stays outside)

New rear bumper arrived from Custom & Commercial. Need to rearrange service & MOT (my mechanic is back to work after a few days off)

Had a bit of a garage clear out and took the assorted junk to the tip (sorry waste recycling centre). Spent about half an hour there chatting to a chap who was admiring the van and reminiscing about his Beetle ownership in his younger days.

Treated Scooby to a Meguiar's Wash before the Bank Holiday Weekend - packing tomorrow

Packed Scooby with all the essentials for a FAB weekend away - oh plus some food

Packing, packing and more packing....Bessy getting excited!

A day of quality time with Eddie. Fitted new rear bumper and Meguiars wash and wax.

All set for the beer and diesel festival in Corfe next weekend

Drove home after a FAB weekend in the Cotswolds - getting in at 5.15pm
90mins later everthing was put away
60mins later Scooby was treated to a a Meguiar's Wash
30mins later we were all showered and sitting down 'cream crackered' - but happy!

Drove to Worthing and had tea at the 'beach', sitting next to a late bay (who was a Br*ghton fan )

Then drove home up a busy A24.
