| Hey guys, I know it a fairly common extra, but just fitted my Fiamma bike rack.. you like how the red trim matches the bunting - forward planning :-) | |

| Don't run a hose along the top of the hatch now - the only downside to this great accessory is that it pushes in the rubber seal and allows water to get in if it's high pressure. Looking good though - hope you used a spirit level to line it up straight! ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Wondering if a little bit of something sticky and waterproof smeared on the rubber might help.
We have the same problem with ours, I'll try some Vaseline and see what happens. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

Re next week Tim, will do best, probably Sunday, but will leave earlier than last year, took a while to get in You guys did a sterling job though... BTW Dub passed its MOT last week, no problems so we are ready to roll.. ________________________________________________________________________________ 2006 Air-Cooled Duby

| Some thing to bear in mind - we bought our van in October, 2008 when it was 4 years old and it came with the same bike rack as yours. We took it off as we didn't envisage using it for a while and it had obviously been used a lot !! Because where the two rubber pads rested against the boot lid were two slight dents and scratches. And as Tim says - it used to rain in at the top !!
Our van passed its MOT yesterday too.. | |

| We went for one of these ...... 4 Bike Carrier
It does mean getting a tow-bar fitted but once that's done they're dead easy to put on / take off.
Also it's hinged so can be dropped down to access the rear (so to speak).

| That's a monster of a bike rack How far will it project once fitted and the 4 bikes are loaded? Great bit of kit though - just be careful reversing Rooby Roo ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| Scooby - it does stick out a bit when open you're right (as you need the full length even for one bike). It's maybe 60cm (or 2 ft in old money!).
We have 4 bikes on sometimes so it's good to know they're a bit spaced out from each other. As with all Thule products, it takes a bit of time before you realise you can trust it to do what it does - at first they seem to defy the laws of physics!
The good bits are the time it takes to install (2 minutes) and the price. The down side is you need a tow-bar installed too (£300?), and you should really get a lightbar to go with it (they're about £30 for the Thule one, and maybe £15 for a number plate).

| Oh, and you do need to take it off when not using it, as opposed to a Fiamma unit which you can leave on.
Horses for courses, as they say!

| Good Evening Gang Has anyone got a bike rack which is good for a Kombi (Fiamma. Thule (no towbar on our Kombi) etc) - we could do with getting one. Cheers Batman | |

| The Fiamma rack designed for the T2 is very good, holds two bikes (as well as flag poles when needed, view Volksworld pics for details...) and is widely available from the normal suspects. We bought ours from Just Kampers last years open day to get the additional 10% open day discount and as they didn't have one in stock they delivered it for free a week or two later. We also got a free cover although as yet we've only used it once. Fiamma T2 Rack Don't forget to ask about club discount too! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| How do you fit it? Is it something you can do yourself or involves some serious drilling, fitting, etc We are about to get one for our customers. | |

| Easily fitted - no drilling or screwing - you just need a spanner.
Takes about 10 minutes if that to put on.

| Make sure you check all fittings and bolts once you've used it as ours 'settled' a bit and needed tightening to avoid movement and potential damage. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| We've decided to grasp the nettle and get a towbar - can see it being very useful in future. I like the danbug - but have a trailer already - so thinking of rebuilding it with a teardrop sort of shape - just thoughts (pipe dreams) at the moment - I am such an optimist!
