| Anyone got any feedback on a good bike rack for our vans?
Thinking of getting one just wondered what best to get.

| Hi Dilly. You can get a 2 bike rack that fits on the tailgate or one that fits on the tow bar (we sell these that hold up to 4 bikes and you can still tow and it clears the spare wheel if youve got this mounted on the back)....Club discount on both if you PM me. Hope that helps | |

| Hi Dilly We use the Fiamma bike rack (2 bikes) as do many on here More than happy with it - see pic in link below Rooby Roo http://www.justkampers.com/shop/t2-fiamma-bike-rack-plus-free-bike-cover-j13763.html ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| The Fiamma bike rack (2 bikes) works a treat and is easy to fit and use.
The only downside is an occasional small leak from above the rear door when water is applied under pressure, eg, when using a hose to clean, due to the rack interfering slightly with the door rubbers.
We simply try not to spray that area with a hose when cleaning, and always remove anything 'vulnerable' from the back before starting.
Not a problem at the moment however due to the hosepipe ban! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| You should avoid using any sort of water pressure appliance when washing dowyour van, this is in the Danbury do's and don't's sheet as the seals on the BraziBay's are not 100% watertight, we use a watering can without the rose to wash away the soap. | |

Now that's confidence inspiring.... That's just the way it is with the BraziBays, one of their little differences to the German built bays, it's not a problem but just be aware that if you do use pressure then you will get some water ingress. You may notice that when driving in a heavy downpour there's water in the door step, this may be why.

| Never had a problem using our hose with spay nozzle on Tallulah, with the exception of the area at the top of the rear door where the bike rack fits... ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Just took Tallulah's bike rack off in preparation for being a wedding Kombi tomorrow (she's very excited and will be decked out in yellow ribbons!) and there are some light scuff marks on the rear door panel where the rubbers were touching the paintwork.
Although a reasonably snug fit, over time some dirt/grime has made its way bwtween the bodywork and the rubbers and scuffed the shine off.
Obviously I'll buff and wax and replace as much shine as possible, any suggestions on how to stop it getting any worse when the rack gets fitted back on?

| Might be worth sticking some vinyl on the bodywork where the rubbers go. Similar to stuff used for the pop top. That way it will wear the vinyl and not the paint. I use clear lens repair tape for my poptop

| You can buy a roll of large clear repair tape from B&Q. I use it behind the bike rack brackets. Will do the job fine. Just smooth out any bubbles with a soft cloth. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Has anyone found a bike rack that can be used on a Danbury without having to remove the rear-mounted spare wheel? I know there's a rear wheel mounted rack but as the wheel is so offset to the right , I think the bikes will stick out too much unless the bike rack adjusts ......... | |

| If you have a tow bar there are several different bikes that will fit on that. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

Buying new bikes might be more expensive than buying a bike rack

Buying new bikes might be more expensive than buying a bike rack Or a tow bar and tow bar rack, but it will depend on the bikes. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| We have the Thule 'hang on' type bike back, which sits on the tow bar (as fitted by VW Kampers!)....it's really clever, once you trust the fact that it actually stays upright!
It can take 4 adult bikes comfortably and is a nice safe distance from the paintwork.
It does need a lightboard, that's the only drawback.
