Volksworld Show - 23rd & 24th March 2013 - Sandown Park Esher

Are we really bothered what coverage the brazzy bay gets, we all knew the production of the van would end at sometime like the split T2 and T25 all good things have to end at sometime. I was alittle dissapointed to see the way the thread was going about boycotting etc and in some ways I think the thread should have been stopped and deleted as it was doing the brazzy bay and the forum harm not good. Having been in the Dub scene for over 25 years owned many vans belonged to many clubs but most fizzle out eventually lets just enjoy our dubs and accept them for what they are. Tim

Sorry Tim, I think you're missing the point I was making. I am incredibly passionate about our Kombis and have struggled along with others here to get the model the recognition I feel it truly deserves on 'the scene.' I am continually disappointed with publications such as Volksworld and Camper & Bus as they give such little credit to the New VW T2, despite its 'increasing' following, an indication of which is this very forum. The news that production of the Kombi is ending is ENORMOUS when you think about how many Bay Window Campers there are out there and those mags base the majority of their content writing about such. Ok maybe a boycott is extreme, but you can't blame me for being miffed. I spend so much of my free time chatting/writing/fixing stuff about Kombis, it's almost in my blood now!

Another minor plus for BraziBay coverage in VW Camper & Commercial.
It took me some time to spot it, but in Issue 62 (Nov/Dec 2012) Scooby and Roobarb are pictured together on page 44 - part of the Camper Jam Photo Shoot.
Only incidental inclusion I guess.

. . . not only is Roobarb and Scooby pictured at the top of page 44 . . .

. . . but Absinthe, Scooby and TimV are all photographed in costume at the top of page 40!

Saturday 23rd would suit us best. From memory can you me what the timings are for the day. We'll drive up early in the morning rather than camp. HH.

You need to be at Sandown Park by 8.30am. The group will then be given a stand and will need to remain in situ until around 6pm on the Saturday and 5pm on the Sunday.

That's not a problem. It's written up on the 2013 family planner.

We are just waiting for work shifts to be confirmed before we are able to commit to being able to be in the line up. Obviously if there is others able to commit now then not a problem, we will visit for the day as in other years

We should be fine for both days, looking forward to the curry!

I've just heard back from Volksworld. They say they are 'full to the brim with clubs' - would we like to go on the reserve list?

So I'm inclined to say no to that, BUT there is nothing stopping us getting together in the car park for a meet. That way we can still be there but are able to leave whenever we wish.

I'm happy with that. We'll be there on the Saturday and I remember a few clubs met in the car park last year.
Do you think we are on the reserve list as a result of the lack of press over the end of T2 production. Or are they blind to all of that?

We're not on the reserve list unless I ask them to put us on it HH. I'd rather not muck people around. If we go, we gather in the car park.

I don't honestly know. The organisation of the show is always somewhat chaotic.

We could get everyone to meet at mine early on the Saturday like we normally do, then convoy down to the show, find ourselves a decent area to park and then come and go as we please.

I'm going to give it a miss this year, mainly coz my lovely wiffe has something organised for my birthday that weekend. Having said that I wouldn't go anyway because I don't particularily like thier attitude, so pooh to them (childish I know, but who cares)

That sounds like a good plan. I'll go ahead and book some advance tickets now. I don't want them taking any more cash off me than necessary.

I agree HH. Let's create a stir by having a cracking line up in the car park - much bigger than we could ever have had inside on the apron!

Buy your tickets asap folks. This is the SATURDAY that we're going. If you wish to go on the Sunday then obviously do, but as a club we'll be meeting on the SATURDAY.

I will be attending this one not sure what day yet though as there is a family birthday but will try an be there on the Saturday, sounds good
