The Volksworld Show 2014, Sandown Park, Esher 29/30 March

A letter from the organisers with details of the show:

Dear VW Club,


Thank you for your application for a club display at The VolksWorld Show 2014. I am pleased to tell you that your club has been accepted.

Please note that your vehicle passes will be available for collection on the day you arrive. You have been allocated 5 vehicles which entitle you to 10 weekend adult passes and 5 vehicle passes. We are offering camping passes at £20.00 per vehicle instead of the normal price of £23.00. Camping space is extremely limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. Please call us on 0208 726 8341 to book these passes. If your club members want to buy extra tickets at the show, they will need to visit www.volksworldshow.com.

Please arrive with your vehicle(s) between 8am and 9am on Saturday 29th March; however space is limited so why not arrive on Friday 28th March to set up your club stand (you must arrange this in advance by emailing lucy_godfrey@freelance.ipcmedia.com). Please check your club in at the White Gate where the plots will then be allocated on arrival, and your passes issued. Please do not just position your vehicles without first checking in, as your vehicles may be removed.

In the interests of public safety, the following rules and regulations must be adhered to:

1. All vehicles must be in their allocated club space by 9.30am at the latest, on both Saturday and Sunday. Access available from 8am.
2. Once your cars are in position on the club stand, they are required to stay in place for the entire duration of the show. You will be able to move them after the show has closed and all members of the general public are off the site. This is a health and safety requirement and it is imperative that we uphold this procedure – if there is a vehicle in your lineup that needs to leave before 6pm, they should not form part of the club stand.
3. Club display vehicle passes must be displayed at all times and wristbands must be worn throughout the show.
4. No dogs allowed on site.


The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry if any of the regulations are not adhered to:

PUBLIC OPENING TIMES: Saturday 29th March: 10am – 5pm
Sunday 30th March: 10am – 4.30pm

Sadly Mickar have had to pull out of the Saturday display.   

Would anyone like to take their place? You get 2 adult tickets to the show for the day if you wish to. You need to be at Sandown Park in Esher for 0830 and your Kombi will need to stay in place until around 1730-1800 on the day.

Please let me know.

We need to be at Sandown for 8am to get ahead of the crowd trying to get into the Club display area.  Therefore I propose leaving my house in Leatherhead at 7.40am on Saturday morning.  If you would like to meet at my place and drive the short distance to the show in convoy please reply below.  I'll pm you my address.  If you are meeting us at Sandown please get there for 8am.  My house is 2 mins drive from Junction 9 of the M25 fyi.

Sunday, same deal, we'll leave at 7.40am to arrive at Sandown at 8am.  Similarly if you wish to meet at mine please say so, if meeting us at the show - please be there for 8am.   

We'd prefer to head to your place Tim on the Sunday morning and head down in convoy..

Same for me Tim. Prefer to meet at yours on the Sunday morning and join the convoy.

Nearly there now folks - looks like it's going to be a mixed bag weather-wise so come layered up, prepared for both sunshine and rain!

Went to Volksworld 2 years ago and got burnt whilst watching the world record for the number of people stuffed in and on a Beetle.

Let's hope in stays dry.

yes we also got burn't ,however last year we camped and woke up Saturday morning to snow only stayed the day and came home early
hope it's better this year !!!!

Indeed, anticipated temps of between 18-20 degrees. Fingers crossed.

Hi Tracey. I thought I'd mention that dogs aren't allowed to Volksworld. Wasn't sure if you were planning to bring yours.
