| It was a few years back at a Danbury Day that a few of us got to drive the Test Kombi that was fitted with PAS as well as a bespoke aircon system and a LPG conversion. I'm just wondering, has anyone here got either of the latter or is that Test Kombi going to stay unique in history?
They were 'expensive' options. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| I came close to having LPG fitted but found that because Sunny had been lowered, Danbury's tanks (stowed underneath) wouldn't fit. There were a few other options around, namely having a toroidal tank fitted but in the end I decided to bank the £2k cost, as I couldn't be bothered to wait the 2 years for pay back. Another factor was the loss of the wardrobe for the tank. I was also contemplating "upgrading" to a T5 camper and so the person who would benefit from the fitting of the LPG tank would be the next owner, not me. All in all, a no go.
Air con would be nice.... for a couple of days a year. Way too pricey and didn't want to lose the headroom at the back.

| The things we doo with Scooby means we doo not really need the PAS option With regard to LPG we would not consider it and as for air con . . . Invest in heating instead for the UK ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

Surely you jest ! the air con is normally serviced by the cool air coming in from the hole around the accelerator peddle !

Surely you jest ! the air con is normally serviced by the cool air coming in from the hole around the accelerator peddle ! You can switch that off with the "old sock around the pedal" method, as seen in Absinthe (I think).

| Not us, Sunny, we never got round to doing that. The problem was largely solved when we had carpet fitted. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Don't worry Jason, it's sock round the pedal stem, not on actual pedal. High tech fitting ( rubber bands) top and bottom allow sock to move with pedal, but restrict draft up trouser leg | |
