Would have loved to have joined you on this one but no more annual leave left so would only really be able to make the Saturday night so am going to pass on this occasion.

We've booked our tickets and ferry and requested an EHU. If anyone else wants to join in I will request a club pitch so we can camp together.
The plan is for us to head west from Portsmouth when we get back from France, a few days in Sidmouth to catch the end of the Folk Festival there, then stop at a site or two along the Dorset coast heading back to Lymington for 14/8. 4 nights at Vdub Island then eventually home again on the 18th having been away for 3 weeks in Tallulah!

We were the only Bay in the village!
A lot has been said on FaceBook about how bad this event was but we felt that on the comments were a bit harsh. There were some issues - as there regularly are at most events of this scale - but they also did some things very well/better than other events so all in all we thought it was great.
A summary:
As a VW event there really needed to be more (some!) VW traders. There are various suggestions as to why they didn't book or show up, but more fool them as there were thousands of people wanting to spend money and not a lot to spend it on.
As a music festival, the location, site setup, 'vibe' and facilities were great. The event was held on the original 1970 IoW festival site and they had matched the original music line-up with tribute acts - Hendrix, The Who, The Doors etc.
The location was a bit exposed and therefore windy at times but the views were great, and while they could probably have hired a few more toilets, the ones they had were cleaned 3 or 4 times a day with a cleaning team working non-stop.
The weather was mostly good - a couple of short showers and a bit windy at times - we met some nice people, consumed some nice food and drink, had a good time and would certainly consider returning next year.
Currently writing the blog so I'll add a link when done.
