PARTS WANTED NEW OR VGOOD CONDITION

Updating our 2011 Kombi so new parts wanted please.

1/ x2 alloy wheels (with or without tyres). we've an idea which we like but am open to what's on offer.

2/ roof rack, we have a pop top so its got to be compatible with it.

3/ wood steering wheel, anything smaller than the current tractor one is a bonus.

4/ body colour is going to be burgundy and cream so chequered flooring in that colour would be good.

5/ chrome door mirrors x2

6/ as we've a pop top, we wouldn't  mind some bed boards.

Also any other good quality items that would enhance our pride and joy to be reborn as 'Ronnie' that you might have spare... please give us a shout with them....Thank you...tim.

Ps. we telephoned and emailed Danbury for the required parts but they were too busy to get back to us with a price...
not knocking!!! just saying.

Racing Snake had the roof bed for sale which we had bought from him but when we met up at the Sleepover it didn't fit our roof space !!

You could try PMing him to see if he still wants to sell. It was a really good price.

Thanks for the advice and links.
someone mentioned to be sure that the clamps for the roof racks are ok for the Brazilians...do you know if these are ok...( I know you know your VW stuff).

Need a deal on alloys and tyres as well if you come across any... think well probably go with Timv's advice on 15inch alloys...Oh and a wood steering wheel...
Btw, did you manage to find the kombi you were seeking? or have you got to refit the one you've chosen.

Ive got a blue 7 seater thanks just collected from Danbury

the roof rack in the link was confirmed by the seller as fitting brazi bays, I have bought one its on its way along with the step, I would recommend 15" alloys too

just kampers have an offer on 4 wheels at the moment - link below - VW heritage have more choice though, I would suggest buying tyres from mytyres or black circles they are cheapest and sort out delivery and fitting if required

let me know when you have changed the steering wheel if your old one if spare I would like to try and get one leather trimmed but it may go wrong so didn't want to buy a new one for silly money!

no worries, mine should be at home, I'm in spain at minute wife is moaning about parcels I ordered the step too as my 4 year old struggles to get in otherwise

did you sell old steering wheel yet (original plastic one) if not how much would you want for it, I'm going to try and trim one in hide but it means I will have to skive the plastic off the rim to get it to bond and would like a spare if it goes wrong!

going to get the exterior done start to finish (almost) for this week.

Then before we start on the interior, were going to go playing in it for a week trip round Scotland to get a feel of it as to what our needs are for the inside....Type of furniture, if any at all... TV, fridge, gas electric etc... then get the interior blitzed all in one go then... I think were after a wooden steering wheel, probably a bit smaller than what we have already, where would anyone recommend a good bargain.

VW hertitage have one, you need a boss too, I've not looked at them personally but I think ones for 68 onwards bays will fit maybe someone can confirm

if you do change can you let me know if you don't want your original one anymore

I've built my rack today, its not too bad to do

some tips, mine came with instructions for a 3 bow rack - helpful!

check the outer bars (the steel tubes) fit through all the support legs, one of mine had a burr and needed filing to allow a nice smooth pass

check the bolts for the supports/legs all go in cleanly, some of my supports/legs had dried cutting compound and it stopped the bolts, this needed cleaning before assembly just wind the bolt in and then out, clean the threads in the bolts and support with a small flat screw driver

one of my slats was quite warped so I used an m5 counter sunk bolt and nut the sheet steel screw supplied was not strong enough to pull out the warp

assembly is much easier if you ignore the instructions, I loosely fitted the two outer runners with both bolts (8 in total) this I found made the whole assembly square and the slats could then be easily fitted, then I fitted the supports/legs but allowed a little bit of movement to let them twist, slide all the bars through and fitted the corner pieces and tightened it all, worked nicely

So what you're saying Ray, is that the roof rack you've bought isn't great quality!

Btw the regular supplier of wooden steering wheels for BraziBays is MCJ Products. They fit.

I received mine on Saturday... opened it and then give it someone else to build up and fit. think it looks good on, just hope it doesn't fly off on the move.

I've got my new alloys and tyres today, so when they're on I've got x4 steel wheels and goodyear tyres with decent read on and 4 hubcaps for sale... will take £250 for the lot if you know anyone that wants them.

Btw... I use this forum mostly on my Samsung phone and would like to upload pics of stuff for sale on it but am struggling... is there an easy way to do it that im missing. thanks.
