Reference your post on keeping the forum tidy Tim, could you do some instructions on how to include a quote from a different post without including the whole topic, I haven't worked that one out yet.
Sometimes I have just wanted to point someone to a particular item without including the whole thing, but have resorted to suggesting a couple of words to search which brings up the whole topic to look through.
Apologies in advance if it is a simple solution and I am being a bit dim.

DL - highlight the part you want to Quote, copy it, then use the speech bubble icon to paste it in.

Ok diz, here goes ... let's use your post above to demonstrate.
First of all click on the 'Quote' icon in the toolbar of the post you want to quote from:
It's the icon 1 in from the left.
This will then select all the text from the previous post with quotation start and finish coding at the beginning and end. Like this:
Now you simply delete from within that text the stuff you don't want, so let's say I only want your middle paragraph, having removed the text I don't want, I'd be left with:
I can now type my reply either above or below the content that has the quote coding at the start or finish. As long as I don't type within the quote coding, my text will remain clear. Further, if I want to include other bits of a post, I simply copy the start and end quote coding and place them around the relevant text.
Pressing Preview or Send would result in this:
Clear as mud huh?!

Thanks Tim, got that, but perhaps I didn't explain properly what I was after.
Say someone asks about the cost of doing up a trailer for example under 'General discussion' and I wanted to reply under that topic and point them to just the one post of Tallulah's at the bottom of page 4 of 6 pages in the topic 'Maintenance/Technical - Kombi Creative' Trailer refurb project without quoting the whole 6 pages, or suggesting they use ('Trailer' in the search box facility) that's what I am having trouble with.
(I suspect I may have a 'Doh' moment coming up, )

2 options:
1. Use the quote function on the post that Tallulah has made and then copy the whole section within the quote coding ie:
... then paste that into your reply.
Or 2. make use of the Copy BBcode URL function found at the top of the page via the Actions tab.
