Hello, We've got a couple of questions which may you can help with.
Our van is currently in Danbury having its new roof fitted (we had a long debate about where to get a roof from hopefully this was the right choice). I'd thought they can come with a netting device to stop children falling out. But apparently not. So can anyone advise of clever ways to keep a 7 month old baby safe when sleeping up in the roof?
Also, our van interior is quite spartan which for the moment suits us. But we would like to get a fridge, we were recommended to get one which is like a large cool box which we can run off our battery in the van but also lift out the van to take onto the beach etc. when camping. Does anyone have any advice?
We are off on our first trip in the van next weekend to Hay on Wye festival. Nervous and excited! Sorry we can't make the big sleepover this year, but hopefully will get to meet some fellow Brazilian bays soon.

With regard to keeping your 7 month old safe up in the poptop, other than actually blocking off the gap between the bed boards and the frame, I can't see how you can guarantee they'll stay put. Perhaps it would be better if you slept in the poptop and you made use of a travel cot downstairs for your baby? Doing so you might not need to use the rock 'n' roll bed so you'll have more floor space available.
I use a 3 way (gas, 240v, 12v) Royal chest type fridge. Can't be used in the campervan on gas, must go outside in an awning etc but otherwise super flexible.

In theory it should be that difficult to rig up a net at one end of the roof bed, although I'm not aware of anyone that has, it just needs to be secure enough that it won't break or come undone if climbed on or pulled etc.
Most people I know with tiny young-uns put them in a travel cot behind the front cab as Tim suggests.

Our oldest is still sleepwalking at 25 years old .......so the roof wouldnt have been suitable for us. When ours were wee bairns we had a travel cot in our tent and they slept in onesies. We also had bedguards that folded up alongside their bed at home.
