| Drove home!
Sounds a bit dull but we've been on the road for just over three weeks.
Reading - Portsmouth - Caen - Jard sur Mer - La Rochelle - Jard sur Mer - Caen - Portsmouth - Sidmouth - Seatown - Seaton - Christchurch (Holmsley) - Lymington - Yarmouth (VDub Island IoW) - Lymington - Reading.
Just short of 2000km in total, we've had a blast!!!!! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

It was.....interesting....... I'll be writing a blog post in due course, but most of the stuff on FB is correct although a bit exaggerated. The main issue (for us) was the obvious lack of VW related traders. Whether the fees were too high for them or they couldn't be bothered to show up, who knows, but more fool them as there were several thousand people with not a lot (food, drink and children's entertainments mostly) to spend their money on. The music was good and it felt like a proper music festival due to the site layout and deco and we met some new friends - a family from just outside of Leyland in a T4 were our neighbours and soon became our drinking buddies! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| I've just given the van a good wash, greatly helped by one of these: www.leifheit.de Reaches the middle of the roof with no problem, and also folds completely flat to get under the roof rack. They're available from John Lewis. It's also pretty handy for cleaning bathrooms if you're into that sort of thing, especially underneath and behind a free-standing rolltop bath. | |

| Collected Sunny from our friends in Yate. Turns out gearbox itself is fine. Instead it was an issue with linkages and bushes. Considerably easier and quicker to fix.
Many thanks to Matt and his team at Danbury for swift remedial work.

| Watched the film - Cars - in a comfy orange seat in the Project 1 Campervan in the Yate showroom whilst waiting for 2 new keys to be cut. Now just waiting for the lost one to reappear which is bound to happen. I guess it was Sunny i saw sitting on the back of a Recovery Truck there. Glad all is well.
Also managed to finally fit my door pockets.
Clearly this was what i did to my VW yesterday rather than at the crack of dawn today - which has been spent painting a wooden storage box which fits snuggly between the 2 front seats and carries yet more claggage.

| Glad Sunny is now all better. You won't believe the amount of campers matt and the team get delivered to us from customers that have been told the gearbox needs replacing (often by so called expert garages) that the Danbury team fix with adjustments etc . I'm very proud of them ;-)
Glad you got sorted Firebird too and enjoyed the film! lol

| Tallulah has been hired for a family weekend trip to Henley while their eldest daughter goes to the festival.
However, we can see the festival main stage from the window in our new bedroom in the roof. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| On Friday afternoon I took my son & Baylee (leaving hubby & daughter at home!) on a road trip to Norfolk to visit friends that have recently moved up there. We drove home again today in the miserable rain. Waved at quite a few other campervans on the way there and back but no brazibays. | |

| Gave Eddie a lovely Meguiar's wash and polish to get rid of all the Cornish sea salt. He's now tucked up in the garage ready to come out and play at Dubs in the Forest. Oh and whilst I thought about it I popped in his last ever paper tax disc with an expiry date of 08/15. | |

| Ruby had a shampoo and rinse this morning. Then it rainied! Off to a family party tonight where Ruby will be our hotel for the night. Did notice a bit of water ponding around battery tray and on the other rear bay where hook up is located. Apart from sponging it out, any suggestions? Drain holes maybe | |

I got one today too. Did you get the "cut it out yourself" kind or the normal perforated type? (I read DVLA had run out of paper stock)

If anyone gets a 'cut out yourself' version they should cut it out in the shape of a kombi! ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| Not quite today but on Tuesday Kosmic went to Danbury for her first MOT, a service, and the fitting of a long life exhaust and a new wooden steering wheel. I'd like to do more but I'm not sure my bonus would cover it! | |
