Subject: Colour Code for Baby blue Bay Thu Dec 22, 2016 8:10 am
Hi All, I know there has been discussion already about paint codes for bays and difficulty getting codes.
I have a cream bay and I want to re-spray it the ever popular 'Baby Blue'! So I cant go to a paint shop and get them to match it. I know the baby blue comes in several variations. I have attached 2 photos of bays with the particular shade I like.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Gavin

Why not start with original VW bay colours and see what suits you best.
Google "VW bay camper colours" and you will find several sites with information on paint codes that were originally used by VW.

It's always wise to stick with a manufacturer's colour as it makes it much easier to get the shading right. Personally my favourite of the 'baby blue' bunch would be Volkswagen's Miami Blue, which was one of the no extra cost options on the Mk1 Golf. Paint code L51C.

Just a thought. The 2 current baby blue variants of the Fiat 500 are worth looking at. My niece has the fresher/deeper shade on hers and it is lovely. You could get a couple of spray cans to see which you prefer.
That's hers on the right - mine on the left, when I picked it up with my sister.
