Black Box in Air intake

Hi All,
I've finally got my hands on my Bay. It arrived with me in Australia this week (not sure there are many over here at all). Long story but I bought her on a trip back to the UK and we have been separated for 8 years! I'm in the process of getting to know her so you might be hearing from me a bit Black Box in Air intake 1f609

I've got a mix of resources and done some googling but haven't seen anything that tells me what the black box is in the drivers side air intake (pic attached). Is it fuel breather related?
