Hi have just cleaned and adjusted my rear brakes this is how I did it first crack wheel nuts then jack up bay and put axel stand under and place wadge under front wheels and take wheel off then back adjusters off so drum can be take off see pic
this is were adjusters are under gromets pull them off
now using a flat blade screwdriver spin both adjuster lose now drum will come off don't hit with hammer on edge just a very soft hit in face between studs and wiggle drum off now drum is off check brake linings are ok
and wheel cylinders are ok and not leaking pull both rubber covers back see if they are dry like mine if so all ok
next thing clean and grease adjuster
they just pull out clean them and copper grease them and put them back in
now clean all the brakes and all parts with brake spray use a small amount of wd40 on springs and cable and refit drum put some copper grease on studs and re fit wheel now pump up pedal to line up shoes and re adjust back up adjust till they catch than back off so they are both free same on both sides then tighten up nuts and away you go
