| Picked up this brand spanking new Mini Cooper D in metallic British Racing Green this afternoon. Reminds me a little of the first car I ever had - an original 'G' reg Mini in British Racing Green. We doo love this Mini - even though it is not so 'mini' any more. Sorry the pic does not show it at its best - it was dark when we got home. ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| That's fantastic, Scooby. What a superb colour.
Mrs B loves her Coupe even though I frightened myself last week on the M61 when I noticed I was doing 115mph!* I'd been out in the Defender in the morning so everything felt fast after that.
*if any police officer is reading this you should know that I'm an insurance broker** and prone to exaggeration. I soon slowed down when I realised.

| My first car was an S reg (78) mk2 Escort in Peppermint Sea Green - nicknamed Slimer of GhostBusters fame due to its similarity in colour.
Bought before I passed my test, structurally sound with an MOT but with a dead engine - head gasget and big end. I spent 6 months tinkering with it while I took driving lessons and saved for insurance and drove it out of my fathers garage on the day I passed my test. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

My first car was a MK2 Escort as well, they were excellent cars, had 3 in total. Used to thrash the hell out of them and they started every morning without a problem, super easy to work on as well ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van | |

| My first car was an Austin 7 Ruby like this, which I bought for a fiver off a 'bomb site' car lot. It was before I was old enough to drive, and I saved up my paper round money with the intention of building a '750 special' in time for when I passed my test. This is what I did to it. (in an almost finished state) Sacrilege, I realise now, but it was commonplace then. It was ahead of its time though, it had a version of ABS, not in the modern sense, but in my youthful exuberance, I hadn't realised that the body formed the 4th side of the chassis rail. It had cable brakes all round, and when you braked the chassis flexed and released the brakes. It then went back to its original position and the brakes came on again, and the cycle repeated itself. Had to strip it all back again, and then got the chassis 'boxed' | |

| What a FAB first ride out of the season we had yesterday We went around around the Oxfordshire country side in the sun, dropping into Oxford Harley Dealership along the way. Today we treated both bikes a Meguiar's wash - another first of the season! Here they are afterwards, we doo think they look good ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| Have done so many times in the past (at least the singing). Most recently at the Halloween Bash along with some of the other attendees. So if it's on the playlist for the Saturday night then Scooby will sing it again - no worries! | My first car - a '68 bug in Diamond Blue. Bought it off an elderly couple who had owned it from new and put 40k miles on the clock in 20 years. All original with a full service record. I eventually sold it to someone who took a fancy to the reg plate POR 959 G I wonder what car they were going to transfer it to? | |
