| Da ra ta taa, da ra ta taa..... (please sing along if you feel the need!) Well, finally that time has arrived, the bus is being stripped as it goes to the paint workshop on Saturday. Who would've thought the bumper would be hiding so much dirt Definately making a list of all the stainless screws needed when refitting the bumpers and trying to source decent headlight rims as our are in a shocking state for only being 5 months old. Or maybe I just need to be busier with the chrome polish Will keep you updated with more pics when I get them.

| Living in Scotchland, I would have thought that anemic white would fit in quite well!

It's just a nightmare when the sun comes out, the bus goes bright red then starts to peel!

| st - that will look great - I saw one the other day and suggested to Alison that we should have had that colour - she gave me the look that said, "don't even think about it"! ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Not a nice thing to find behind the indicator, but hopefully the guys will sort it properly when they spray it, looking forward to seeing the finished article | |

| The poor job around the side repeater hole is to be expected I'm afraid.
Everyone should twist off their lenses carefully, gently ease the repeater unit forward and rustproof the unpainted edges of the hole, and then touch in with a paintstick. Hopefully Danbury are drilling the holes FIRST these days and then painting the lower halves. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

The are going to sort it before spraying thankfully. The metal burrs on the inside hadn't even been filed off. Thats why my repeaters sticked out a bit because it dosen't let the retaining lugs grip the back of the panel. Which in turn doesn't leave a waterproof seal with the rubber gasket against the body so lets water into the untreated metal.

| Well this weekends task was to clean up the inside of the front and rear bumpers here's what I started with. I sanded all the rust off and treated rusty areas with Kurust. I then masked up the outside of the bumper in preparation to zinc primer the inside so it really bites into the metal. Before Rear Before Front Rear Painted Front Painted Then I used Hammerite stone chip shield using my air compressor to apply a nice thick coat. Front Stone chipped Rear Stone chipped Hopefully this will stop them from rusting and last a bit longer before needing re-chromed.
