| Does anyone know where I can get a load of spare fuses for a T2 Brazilian please? Danbury gave me some when I bought our van last year but I seem to blow a fuse every time I use the bloody thing! | |

| Any good auto parts supplier will do them. Halfords dont do the 30 amp fuse for the leisure battery. They are very cheap, just take one with you to get the right sort and get a sellection
Just had a look on Maplins web site, they do 120 standard fuse's from 5 amp - 30 amp for £10, thats 20 of each size. That will keep you going for life. Its the standard car fuse you need ________________________________________________________________________________ Matt.

| Which fuse is it that keeps blowing. The 30 amp leisure battery has a tendancy to blow for some people. If you are blowing fuse's constantly, that sounds like there is a problem somewhere. ________________________________________________________________________________ Matt. | |

| you have to change it with the engine running. I remember Tim having his go once and it turned out the earth wire had come loose. As yours is blowing straight away, i would check the wires.
I see that Tim and Kiteman are both online so they might offer some better technical advice. If you search 'leisure battery' you will find a number of previous discussions on the problem

| Just picked up on this ... sorry.
If the fuse is blowing immediately and consistently then that means there's a short somewhere. What happens if you change the fuse without the engine running? ie ignition switched off? ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| When I picked up Dizzy, I was told to use 40amp fuses for the split charger instead of 30amp as they had a history of blowing. ( I must admit I was a bit dubious at first, under the adage that if its designed for that amperage, you don't go sticking a 6" nail in) Having said that, I haven't had any problems...............yet.
At the end of the day, the best solution appears to be Tim's, under Maintenance/Technical Kombi Kreative self switching split charger. | Hi Tim Just tried replacing fuse with engine off and all's well except the radio! I've done this once before a few weeks back by mistake. Just noticed too that the fuses Danbury gave me to use are 40 amp ?? hmmmmm, makes one wonder, doesn't it? Off to the Yorkshire Dales this weekend, so will keep a score of fuse useage!!!!

| So I take it your radio is powered by the leisure battery?
In that case remove the 10amp fuse for the radio - normally the bottom one of the four located in the leisure battery circuit - next to the front lh seat. Then try changing the fuse again with the engine running. If the fuse doesn't blow then you can attribute the fault to the radio wiring. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Well, now the fun's started. Went for a short drive, checked 30amp fuse and it's gone again. Found the leisure battery circuit and there are only 3 x 10 amp fuses, the fourth space is empty and labelled as being for an optional tv. The 3 existing fuses are all fine. | |

| The radio being wired to the leisure battery is your best sign that the 30/40 amp fuse has blown, i was under the impression that if you try to replace the fuse without the engine on it will blow straight away. Looks like you have a short somewhere as you are blowing the fuse this much. ________________________________________________________________________________ Matt. | |

| Hmmm .... it sounds like something's going on with the leisure battery charging system. I see your BraziBay is a 2011. When is it due its next service? I think I'd be inclined to get Danbury to sort it out. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Thanks for replying with all your help, guys. Without going into the gory details here, I don't think we'll be going back to Danbury for anything. A local guy does the service/maintenance..Think I'll ask an auto electrician to run a test on it. Will let you know what happens..... | |
