Hi All, just got back from our first extended camping trip, staying at Perran Springs (Perranporth) Cornwall.
- with another 1000k and several days at the wheel of a fully (and I mean fully) laden van I now feel intimately acquainted with my gearbox - never thought I would actually have to drive in 2nd gear on a motorway :-) - has anyone fitted a revcounter??
- despite the poor weather forecasts we did actually have 2 full days of sun on the beach in Lusty Glaze and St Ives
- on the flip side on Wed night I had to get up every hour in the driving wind and rain to ensure the awning hadn't dissappeared - quite scary - Amber weather alerts meant we packed up the following morning and drove home.
happy days! - see you all at the sleepover

Remember folks - pitched in high winds and the poptop up - turn your BraziBay into the wind to reduce buffeting!

We're in mid-Wales until Sunday and took the decision at 2am this morning to unpop the pop top as it was becoming increasingly windy and noisy (enough to wake us up) and once we'd thought about it there was no way we were getting back to sleep until it was done.
It made for a cosy night - or what was left of it anyway - but at least we got some sleep.
The question from the wife at 2am was:
"are there any manufacturers guidelines for the roof and wind speeds?!"

We watched our fellow campers chasing their 'fly away' tents in Swanage last night. We took the decision to move Eddie to a nice sheltered corner of the campsite surrounded by some tall hedges. Seemed to work. My son slept up top and didn't wake up until 8 o clock.

Hope our weather didn't spoil your time in Perranporth.......it's been a bit testing at times this last week. Look forward to seeing any pics you may have.
