I have had a couple of questions from people re driving a LHD BraziBay. All the usual ones....how different, overtaking, car park machines etc. Can any of my fellow Left Hookers please put a reply to this on your experience it may give future Left Hookers piece of mind. Please no funny one liners like ' were from the dark side' etc.
Thanks

No problem at all
Remembering to get in the correct door as it's not my daily drive
Overtaking on a tight country road is difficult if you don't have someone in the passenger seat

I've never had any issues at all. I agree that overtaking takes a little more care but to be honest I actually like the fact that when I'm in my Kombi the driving experience is different.

After just a short time of driving LHD it feels fine, no real issues other than the tolls in this country e.g Dartford crossing, also fine if you have a passenger which I normally do. As for overtaking I normally only attempt on dual carriageways and motorways.

I kinda like the additional quirkeness of it, wouldn't want to change.

No problems with LHD, and so much easier to drive in France etc. Ditto as above comments re overtaking on motorways and dual carriageways. Also I saved £1,000 by not having it trasferred to RHD!

LHD:
* Useful when meeting other traffic on narrow roads as you know how close you are to the hedge/ditch
* You can have a chat to cyclists when you are overtaking them!
* You get out straight onto the pavement when parking
* Most of the overtaking is on dual carriageways so no real problem
* One big plus is that you can fit a swivel base to the passenger seat which gives a load of extra seating area. Much better than perching on a buddy seat.
Cheers
Steve

I agree the ability to fit a swivel seat to the RH front without it impinging on the steering wheel is a bonus.

Think the question is only relevant to lhd owners in the UK michel - where the norm is rhd.
