Subject: Colour-coded dash? Sat Jun 13, 2015 11:18 pm
Hi all,
Just looking at the fab Sleepover pics, am very sad to have missed it. Anyway, I noticed one of two of you have the top section of the dashboard colour-coded to the colour of the van, can you tell me how you've done this please? Hubby things he can take the main part off and either spray paint or cover it, but we haven't figured out how to do the bit on top (if that makes sense!).

If you pop a search in for 'painted dashboard' you'll find my topic on how I painted my own. To be honest though if you want an exact match to the colour of your van I would ask VW Kampers to give you a quote. I'm sure they can do the top section at the same time.

I decided to paint my dashboard so I simply masked everything taking care around the instruments etc for a clean finish and then I just sprayed the whole thing white using regular car paint. For the area near the windscreen I had to resort to a brush and a different paint but the end result looks great and the sprayed dashboard has been looking good for several years now.
I took the front seats out.
