Danbury discount on Rear Spare Wheel Carrier

I put an enquiry on Danbury yesterday for a rear wheel carrier using the forum discount code. I had a price on Monday from their sales dept of £399. Anyway they responded with a price of £499. The first price was wrong as they only offer this to customers buying new conversions and they say our forum discount lapsed over 12 months ago. Does anyone lnow where i might find a carrier that is more cost effective. Moonraker had a nice one and someone produced them but that was back in 2007. Any help appreciated

They are bought from a landrover supplier, think there just over £100, they would need some fetaling . We have fitted them in the past and they worked great!

I think Dizzy put a post on a few months ago with a drawing of the carrier . You might find a local fabricator who could knock one up at about half the price

Danbury don't use that item as it's not made specifically for the VW...

You can buy square wheels in most DIY stores, you'll find the with the elbow grease and left handed screw drivers.
