| I was thinking of buying the above from Just Kampers and wondered if anyone had any experience of them or would suggest an alternative model? Link is below
http://www.justkampers.com/camper-van-motorhome-and-camping-accessories/awnings-sun-canopies/motorhome-awnings/campershop-retro-awning-lhd-blue-grey-2017.html
We need an awning which is robust and can be left on campsite when we are using the Van.

| We used to use an original 1970s one of those, great once erect but TBH a bit of a faff. Took up lots of space when packed away too, along with being quite heavy (I'm sure the new ones are lighter).
It wasn't long before we upgraded to Campershop Outlaw awning (don't think they are available anymore) which was smaller when packed and larger when erect. We used this for a few years - it went out on hire a good few times too - and served us well until it died.
We considered long and hard before replacing it, came close to buying an inflatable one, but eventually bought a bell tent and use it as a glawning with the help of a sun canopy - we couldn't stretch to 'real' glawning but would if we could.
That said, many owners still like the 'quick-erect' Kyham awnings.
Hope that helps.

| Have had a quick erect kyham motordome classic for nearly seven years, only thing I have done to it is reseal the seam where the pole goes through to attach to van. Tim | |

| It will be no surprise to anyone that my vote is for the Glawning from Glawning.com. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Thanks for all the replies. Will probably go for the keyham motordome classic quick erect awning. The Glawning does look nice though! | |

If you need additional sleeping outside your van, the sleeper version is a good option. P.

P. When we had the sleeper version the bedrooms were used for storage.

| We bought our Kyham Sleeper version at CamperJam a few years ago when they had 'special show prices' If you could make it to such an event you might be able to save some money - we certainly did ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run | |

| Today, at the JK open day, we saw someone advertising a Kyham sleeper drive-away awning, so will PM @Bruce09 with their details. P. | |
