Just over 2 days to go before deposits have to be paid .... anyone else want to come???!!!

Bookings now 'officially' closed with the Tremendous 10 set for a real Kombi Kaper towards the sunshine.

If anyone else does wish to join do let me know and I'll see if I can twist our agent's arm to find more space.

Good job everyone, really looking forward to our inaugural trip together into foreign lands.

I've been unable to commit up until now & have taken a bit of a gamble & paid the deposit on the assumption that I can make it.

If you can get hold of them, Motorola T6222 units are ace.

They were discontinued a while ago, but still crop-up on fleabay. For domestic units, they're really well spec'd & include a voice scramble feature to help avoid eavesdroppers.

What channels do they operate on? Just wondering whether they would be compatible with the radios I'll be bringing.

Edit - had to change radios for compliance

They're standard PMR 446 radios, so whatever channels they operate on.

We're going to have to sort out our meeting points for the trip down to Portsmouth - I imagine that Salisbury might be a good one for us South West folks?

We can sort that out nearer the time. We need to be inline for the ferry a minimum of an hour beforehand. Plus of course we'll need some 'photo' time. There's gonna be a lot of that!

Don't forget the northern section ,down there is all new to us !!!!!!!! We would like to know if anyone knows a campsite as we will be travelling down on the Saturday,unless someone has a "big"garden /drive!!!!!

Never been that far south - was planning to set off next week.

We can accommodate a few Kombis on our drive if you wanted to split your journey in two.

Hi Geoff ,when was you "really" thinking of driving down?

I can accommodate 2 BraziBays on my drive as well as Max so happy for some Northerners to kip over the Saturday night. We'll have to leave mid afternoon on the Sunday though as need to pick some of my party up from Bognor Regis on the way down. It's a nice drive!

We'll be driving down on the Sunday. We're straight on the M6 and heading south.

Probably on the Friday spending 2 nights enroute - might explore the New Forest on the Saturday/Sunday
