Our attendance on the trip was in some doubt this morning - Boris wasn't well and Alison had to take him to the vets. Apparently he's got colitis but we're expecting him to be ok to leave at home. Phew...

You're braver than me putting it up there. I'm sure it's legal but you don't want some over zealous gendarme pulling you over because he didn't see it.

My business partner was stopped last month in a tiny village in France whilst touring on his motor bike. He hadn't done anything wrong, he reckons the two gendarmes were just bored. They had some difficulty in understanding his old style licence which he refuses to have updated to a modern one.

All ended well but it put 45 minutes on to his journey.

I shall take le risk Abs
