| Unfortunately due to a crap divorce settlement and lack of car I'm having to sell my beloved SL03BUS , I commute to uni everyday which is about 20miles away & as a poor student its just not financially viable. The kids are devastated as we have loved our time in him over last 1 1/2 years, we've done a couple of festivals, VW meet and even just camping!! My problem is I dont know what to ask for it........ I paid £16k and I will put new MOT and tax on as currently sorn. 2 previous owners, 1600cc private reg SL03BUS (but reg feb 2004) petrol, RHD pop top, rock & roll bed, sink, hob & grill etc & i was going to include the new awning I bought for it too. Ive got the log book but the rest of the paperwork is in the camper stored with ex so I cant check the mileage......I seem to recall it being about 50k I need as much as I can get as this really is the only thing of value I have but obviously dont want to ask too much. so advice please on a fair and reasonable price!! | |

| Hi
Really sorry to hear that. Been there.
Do you have to sell now? This is the worst time to sell for both private and trade sales. Can you put it off until next March when the season starts when you'll get a lot more interest and a better deal?
So this would be a '53 reg 2004 Aircooled with 50k is that kms or miles?
What type of poptop conversion is it? Colour in and out? Pics would be useful to help gauge pricing. Any damage to the bodywork?
Try and give us some more info and we'll do our best to help. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| HI, thanks for such a quick response!! Well you have answered one question already as I was contemplating leaving the sale til next year. Its blue and white with quite plain interior.....no jazzy refit anyway. There are a few odd bodywork bits, couple of rust spots but nothing major. good, clean honest condition?! I'll have to go & get some pictures to put up asap. Thanks again | |

| Cool ... and, speaking from experience of such situations, don't rush into changes, make sure they are really what you want. As a divorced dad, the time my son and I spend in our BraziBay is priceless. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| As a divorced (and remarried) father, I agree with Tim - don't rush things. Hope all works out for your future. | |

| Oh yeah, got that 'T' shirt, divorced, re married bought van, happy days!!!
As said, don't rush into anything, your van may just be the thing that keeps you sane and smilling, and as Tim has said, time spent in it with the kids...... priceless!
All the best whatever happens.............................

| Me too, I can see a pattern emerging here. My condolences, I hope all goes well, and I agree with everything above. As you can see, it appears there are plenty of likeminded friends on the forum if you need any support. | |

| If I can add,
The blue colour does appear to be the most popular colour.
Much better than red or even orange, but be thankful it's not pink...

*Ducks, runs for cover* Well I guess it's a case of wanting to blend in with the crowd or stand out in front! Equally ducks and runs for cover..... ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Now now boys!!! Well usually I'm definitely one to stand out from the crowd! Ok yes even though I am female I would not have bought pink! Although I do confess we were planning a purple respray at one time but blue is good as its non-offensive. I had a 1972 orange camper some years ago & that was a beauty but again had to go when a relationship ended.....I'm sensing a pattern there too. Hmmmmm But seriously though I really am touched by all this support....so wish I didnt have to sell but left homeless so need the cash towards a house. (& no before some smart alec makes the suggestion I can't live in van with 3 kids even if 1 is at Uni!) | |

| Anywhoo back to the OP question ... how much do we think this BraziBay is worth? Based on the info supplied so far I reckon still around 16k maybe more. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

| Look on the Forum under the BraziBays for sale section as a further guide Scooby thinks if you can wait until the Spring you would still get around £16K Especially if 50k is kms not miles - you also have a good colour choice All the best
