Yep, Eva will be travelling on the winter roads soon - we are off to the Hidden Valley campsite, North Devon on the 30 December to meet up with some friends who will have travelled down from Kendal in their rather nice motor home. If it gets cold and rainy, we'll be in with them, I'm pretty damn sure.

Nice little site - basic but clean and cheap with a hook up - have stayed there twice before
Just be carefull on the roads around there Stoney if there is ice - a bit up and down
Great position though for access to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe
Hope you have a great time

I offer you a synopsis of our little jaunt to the Hidden Valley campsite over the New Year weekend:

DAY 1: rain - more rain - heavy rain - traffic delays - rain - low cloud.

DAY 2: New Years Eve (after a night of rain) - rain - low cloud - heavy rain - trip to Ilfracombe - fill up with petrol and find that we have a flat starter battery - thank God for the booster loaned to us - back at campsite - tinned soup and cheese sandwiches in the van instead of going to the Thatch pub at Croyde Bay for a nice evening meal with friends.

DAY 3: (after a night of rain, again) - low cloud - pack up a day early - rain - more rain - heavy rain - home

Three photos for you - Scooby take note of the words in the first photo.
