Hi Daz i'm thinking about getting one myself, possible for a layman with very little technical knowledge to fit and set up/adjust and did you have to trim the carpet a lot?

- Just fitted mine today. Was a bit of a faf getting it to work properly but it's all sorted now. Simple job when you know what your doing.
The gear change is so much more positive. Would definitely recomend.
If anyone else is going to fit one, you neeed to use bigger of the two spacers that are supplied. What issues did you find Kiteman? I'm thinking of getting one myself

Hi Daz
i'm thinking about getting one myself, possible for a layman with very little technical knowledge to fit and set up/adjust and did you have to trim the carpet a lot? hi yep a bit of carpet trimming and the hand brake will need to be adjusted to only a bit of free play

| With the Empi shifter coming close to the handbrake when selecting 1st gear, has anybody tried moving the handbrake pull dashboard mounting over a bit, the mechanism and lever look quite flexible.

Why would you want to do that? That would mean changing the original design to suit an accessory. So different strains on the handbrake mechanism and cables. If you’re not happy about the EMPI shifter fit an original gearstick in the correct place. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

They are quite close, but not close enough to be a problem if both gearshift and handbrake are correctly adjusted.
