Last Edition 600 - end of the T2

Is very sad - end of an era. Maybe someone will buy the factory tools and keep making them on a smaller scale?

The final batch will be worth a lot more if they're left untouched. Pitty the last aircooled was messed with. Should have been left in factory condition, in my opinion

I agree kiteman. Also investment wise I reckon you'll need to wait 40+ years to get a significant return. Stick it in a Carcoon and come back in 2053.

No michel, that is the reflection of the lighting on the inside metal of the roof. I thought that at first, but zoomed in.

Nice that the forum got a mention in the VW Camper and Commercial piece but that's just the tip of the iceberg really. It's a pity they didn't contact a number of members to get their angle or discuss any of the club's activities. Ho hum.

Tim,
VW Camper & Commercial did publish a couple of letters I wrote (one on the role of Hans Ledwinka in the 'birth of the bus', and another on whether the Editor would choose a new T5 or a new BraziBay to replace his Split).
Comment from the Editor was that they like a wider topic than just news of reader's vans and of weddings.
A chance for you to publish all that you have done and still do with the Forum?

I appreciate what you say osg, but surely they are the journalists, they have a magazine to sell. Why should I do all the work for them? Isn't it down to them to research and write up their stories. I'm quite happy in the knowledge that we have a great community here brought together by a characterful vehicle. Surely if the journos are interested in the subject they would be happy to do the work?  It's down to them to spread the word. Isn't that what media is? To be honest I think the majority of the VW mags are somewhat contrived. Ads seperated by stories about said advertisers with the odd real life story thrown in.

I reckon that most small circulation mags are the same. They largely rely on copy sent to them rather than going out looking for stories. I know from experience how easy it is to get a story into the trade insurance magazines as it makes their life much easier.

Go on Tim, we'd love to see the story of this Forum in the press.
