Dubs in the Forest 26th - 28th Sept Hampshire

Last year thee was no 'club camping' but he put us together anyway.

That was quick!

There are only 12 normal pitches left so book quick and Dave will do what he can to get us together. Make sure you put the club name in the notes section so that he knows.

OK, bought a standard camping pitch and asked in the notes to be in the Brazibay club section, though this bit didn't appear in my receipt. Hope it works.

Booked (what have I done?).   It was the colour of the merchandise that persuaded me...

I included a note that we want to camp as near to the gang as possible.

Just need to tell Mrs B how far away it is - if Beakboy can travel to Cumbria then we can make it to Hampshire.

Be gentle with two naive Northerners...

Excellent. I'm sure the hospitality afforded you will be every bit as welcoming as that to southerners who've ventured north.   

Great New's that HH , Sunny and Abs are now coming along , was a great event last year and even if we're not pitched together we really won't be more than a 2-3 minute walk away... Be prepared to bring some sunglasses Mr and Mrs B  

...a sun hat and sun cream may also be required!

I've just had a thought - they do allow dogs don't they?

The site allows pets so no reason why the event shouldn't but I will double check for you.

Suggestions please - we've booked the rest of the week off after D.I.T.F. Any locals got any thoughts of where we should stay, what we should see?

I was tempted to get a ferry from Poole to Jersey or France but the cost/length of time available ratio seems wrong, so maybe a good site in the New Forest would suit. Ideally it would be close to a pub and with walks for Boz plus quirky shops for Mrs B.

Hi Martin , don't really know the area but the site at Lytton Lawn is really good and owned by Shorefields who have a number of sites in the area so might be worth at look at other sites they have.
They appear to have one in Swanage and think you'd like it down there as plenty to do including steam train which stops off at the lovely Corfe Castle.

We went to Swanage this Easter and had a great time - have not written the Blog yet!

Plenty of walks and we would recommend the campsite too!

We've visited plenty of sites in the area, written several blogs about them too, take a look on www.vdubcamperhire.com and feel free to call/pm if you want to know more.

The DITF site is also very close to Lymington if you fancied a ferry over to the Isle of Wight, look at Wightlink.co.uk for ferry info.

I agree with the others too, think you would really like Swanage.

And if it makes you feel more like you are on holiday, you can always catch the ferry from sandbanks to studland to get there.
