We haven't stopped at any of them (we used the Municipal site in St Martin).

I suspect the problem will be that most of them have closed now until next year, but, on a positive note, there are plenty to choose from! Would it be worth booking the Ferry (I'm sure most travel agents or one of the main Carvan/Camping Clubs could do that for us at a slight discount) and sorting out sites later?

Yes Abs I agree it may well be worth booking the ferry, however experience tells me that unless people know WHERE they are going to be holidaying, they are consequently reluctant to commit cash to it. Which to a degree I feel is fair.

I know what you mean but I'm keen to crack on booking our ferry. The best cabins tend to go early and the clock is ticking. Are the dates set in stone? If they are I might just book it.

Nothing in stone Abs until a) we find a campsite that can take the group and b) enough people commit to the trip to get the deal I organise. Suggest if you're anxious to get your holidays booked that you go ahead. If the trips coincide so much the better. Can't offer anything more at this stage I'm afraid.

I thought dates had been chosen? Last week in July/ first week in August? I'll await more info once the poll closes on Monday. Very much hope we can make it.

Dates need to concur with campsite availability.

Or vice versa...

Nope, I've emailed 3 sites, heard nothing back and I've got our agent checking availability at another site, coming back to me on Monday.

Fingers crossed we may know something early next week then. Thanks for all your efforts with this Tim.

Ok so here's the state of play ....

Camping Interlude who we can book through our usual way do not take group bookings in high season. We have a last ditch attempt in the next couple of days by effectively begging with the site owner. Tbh I'm not that optimistic.

So I've now had a Franglais conversation with L'Ocean independently and they are coming back to me tomorrow to let me know if they will take our group.

Fingers crossed.

If I were you .... I'd book the last week in July/first in August ... whatever we do, that's when it will be.

Is that for certain now then? Are we likely to travel on the same days as this year or do the ferry crossings vary?

Can't be specific about travel dates, but if it's the case that you're fighting with others for the leave - I'd get it booked.

I will pencil those weeks in & hopefully they'll be flexible if I need to add/change a day either end. Can I get excited yet?!?
