2015 - Halloween Bash

We have reached the discounted prices as we have 10 attendees booked in

All paid up now - not long to go now - it's gonna be spooktacular - cannot wait.

The local pub for Saturday lunch is only 1.1miles from the campsite - 21 minutes walk according to Google Maps!
They have a dining area where we can all sit together and well behaved dogs (and owners) are welcome.

The walk on Saturday will be in the adjacent woods (see below) which will obviously be wet under foot in some parts.
We can make the walk as long or as short as we like so long as we are at the pub by 1.00pm for lunch!

As can be seen by the above plan:
The electric hook ups we are considering are pitches 1 to 18.
There are two separate shower blocks close to our pitches - shown in light blue.
The recreation field is to the top left of the site plan.
To the bottom left/middle are a couple of gates out into the Forest - great for dog walking.
Well behaved dogs on a lead would be allowed within the sports hall and the room we are hiring for the two nights.
The room we are hiring is between the barn and the sports hall at the bottom of the plan.
Arrival time is from 2.00pm and departure time is 11.00am - but an hour either way should be OK.

Scooby welcomes you to the 2015 Halloween Bash.

We have searched high and low for a new venue this year, one that is not too out of the way, but one that can provide hook ups for all, local walks, a local shop and dog friendly pub that are both not too far away, good and clean shower and toliet facilities, plus a room on the campsite which we can hire for the two evenings so we will not be exposed to the elements.
We have found such a venue.
So, whether it will be dry, mild and sunny or wet, cold and windy we will be in the dry within our own room with power, lighting, a toilet and even a small kitchen - see below some pics of our visit to the campsite.


So where is this campsite we hear you say, well it is in the Forest of Dean - the link is below - doo take a look.

Deanwood

We know it is not along the M40 corridor as past events, but from the North it is only down the M5 and from the South/South East you can hurry along the M4. This site may add up to an hour on to your journey compared to the previous site, but by comparison it has a lot more to offer.

So, you can forget thinking about putting up event shelters in the wind and rain, this year we have a new venue on offer where we we can hire a room for both Friday and Saturday nights - it'll be a scream!

Pricing information:
Nightly Tariff - as published on the web site.
£18.00+£4.00 for the Electric Hook Up based upon 2 people, one vehicle including an awning.
Extra nightly costs include: £1.00 extra for an additional vehicle, £5.00 per additional person and Dogs are £2.00.

Depending upon numbers we have negotiated a small discount to the above figures.
If there are ten Kombis the £18.00 will be reduced by £2.00 per night.
If there are fifteen Kombis the £18.00 will be reduced by £3.00 night.

The room hire we have negotiated a special price of £85.00 for both nights.
This will be from around 7.00pm up to midnight on both nights.

Example costs, based on two nights for two people in a Kombi, an electric hook up, an awning with ten Kombis attending would be as follows:

£16.00+£4.00+£16.00+£4.00+£8.50 room hire = £48.50

The above example with 15 Kombis attending would reduce the £48.50 to £43.67

Either way we believe it is not bad for what is included - you would need to calculate your family cost based upon the figures presented above. Clearly the more that attend the better for all.

Addtional information:
The room hire comes with free use of the kitchen, fridge, sink and microwave, plus all the tables and chairs we need in the room.
The large sports hall is available for hire on an adhoc basis if needed - ie wet Saturday afternoon - so you could have somewhere to be out of the wind and rain, play badmington, table football or table tennis - see our photo below.

There is also a separate games field where we could play our own games weather permitting, which also includes a netted goal post and basketball net.

Payment of Balance
This is normally four weeks from the booked date, but as there may be some late attendees they have agreed to reduce this down to two or three weeks - will advise an exact date nearer the time.

Camping together
We have been allocated the Motor Home area - hook up locations 11 to 18 on the map below. There are however 10 hook ups in this area which means we shall all be nicely contained within one area, with a kitchens and showers nearby. It is also only a short walk to our hired room (by the Sports Hall on the map below).

Rock Pegs
We are in the gravelled Motor Home area which means whilst we avoid wet grass and mud, if you are putting up an awning or pop up tent you will need to use rock pegs. We have permission to put up a gazebo or event shelter in the middle of the area too if we desire.

So there it is folks - an opportunity to celebrate Halloween with you fellow Brazi Bay Chums in a new and exiciting venue.
We expect some questions which we shall answer as soon as we can, but please doo take a look at their website first.
As this is a new venue we doo need to act quickly to ensure we can secure the dates and all of the above.
If you are interested please respond to this post asap - to make this work we need as many of you to attend as possible.
Hope you will be interested in these proposals as they doo, in our opinion, represent a good opportunity at that time of year (albeit a compromise perhaps on a more central location)
Doo let us know your thoughts good or bad - we would prefer to hear both sides rather than nothing at all!

With regard to location, it has not yet been agreed 'Witch' site . . .

I think it may be too far for us, Scooby. Do you know if dogs are allowed in the indoor facilities?

Having had a look at the map, it may be do-able.

That looks like a fabulous venue Scooby. The function room would certainly be warmer (and drier) than the event shelter at that time of year and I presume no-one will mind if the music gets a little loud!
It's not an area we've been to before so we may even arrive earlier in the week.
Count us in.

Due to the location of the room there will not be an issue with noise!

I've just had a chance to check the map properly - it's an extra hour for us compared with Anita's so it may be a bridge too far, I think.

Looks like a good site though and ideal for that time of year with the indoor facility.

Looks great Scooby , speak to Mrs BB and hopefully we'll make the Halloween Bash this year.

Last year we had 13 Kombis I think  
It would be good to get at least ten this year to help with the price discount.
