Brazi Bikers 2017 - London to Brighton Bike Ride 18th June 2017

Following on from our second successful ride from London to Brighton and raising between us in excess of £1500 for the British Heart Foundation we've decided to do it all again.

Next years ride is on Sunday 18th June and I've registered us a team for the event so if you want to join the team then please register using the attached link and let me know so I can add your name to the participant list.

London to Brighton 2017

Plans for getting to Clapham and back from Brighton are as follows.

1) Congregate at Tim's gaff on the Evening of Saturday 17th June with our Kombi's and stay overnight.

2) Hire a minibus and trailer to transport riders and bikes on the morning of the ride from Tim's to Clapham Common which will kindly be driven by Keith (greenjc90).  

3) Ride from London to Brighton

4) Meet Keith after event , load bikes and return to Tim's.


Thanks to Tim's kind offer we hope to have a bigger team participating in 2017 so please give this some consideration.

The event is open to all and as long as you put some training we'll get you round. There is likely to be a fast group, a family group and possibly even a Brompton group (If Mr Surfwagen Stan is brave enough to lead it   ).

I've made sure it doesn't clash with the Northern Chapter Meet so if anyone wants to ride in their flat caps from up here you'll be able to join in.

A Brompton team, you say? Tempted...

Brompton team has definitely been mentioned. I think it could definitely be a strong possibly especially if it gets you on board.

The Brompton group has caused a bit of interest from Mr HH, dare I say...He is keeping his eyes open!

We both want to do it but it's getting bikes to start then back again that's the only problem hope it can be sorted we don't mind paying for van hire and I don't mind driving van

Want you guys involved mate so we need to have a serious chat about logistics. Hiring a van does seem like a good option so will chat when we come to yours, over a beer of course

Prob is you won't be able to drive the van back from Clapham daz as you'll be on your bike!! So we'll need a dedicated driver to take us up to Clapham, then drive down to Brighton to collect us all. Volunteers?

How has everyone got back from the end of the ride in the past?

Sorry Guys big work problem last night and this morning so been away from the forum.

Right having spoken to the Boss (Tim not Jo) this morning we have a plan in place to get to Clapham and back from Brighton.

This year event staff will nominate the start time , there is no option to choose your start time when registering,start times range from 6am - 9.30hrs. I have contacted the event organizer and advised them of our logistical problem and they have advised that we should get a start time of either 0600 , 0630 or 0700 hrs but there is no problem with starting later than your designated time they will only stop people starting earlier than they should be.

I hope that Tim's kind offer and the logistical solution will encourage you to consider joining the team for 2017.

Hi Abs , in the main the Kombi Support Crew have met us in Brighton and we've all made our own ways home.
Have just added a logistical solution which hopefully will encourage you and others to consider this.

Trains are not an option as Southern don't allow cycles on the network on L2B day.  Wonder why?!?!

Another suggestion to throw into the melting pot.  We are half way between Tim's and Clapham.  So I could also come down to Tim's on Sat evening to pick up bikes and/or people (they can stay at ours)  - room for 2/3 and get them to Clapham.  Getting back - same but in reverse

I'm in!

Just registered and will figure out the how and where at some point next year.

@batman has also expressed a keen interest in joining the bikers next year - we might even convince him to ride in costume!!
