Brazilian VW Bay Bike To Brighton - Sunday 21st June

A few of us discussed riding the BHF London to Brighton Bike Ride this weekend - so now we're going for it!!

I've registered us as a team - Brazilian VW Bay - and so far on that team we have me, beakyboy, Tallulah, Surfwagen Stan and greenjc90.  I've booked us a 7am start from Clapham Common.

The target I've set for our team to reach is £500 - knowing how generous our members are, I'm sure we can achieve this, hopefully beat it!

Once we know the numbers we can sort the logistics about getting to Clapham Common on the Sunday am and the consequent meet up with the rest of the BraziBunch in Brighton later that day.

There is a plan to attend the music festival at the White Horse in Graffam for the Friday/Saturday - those of us biking will probably leave the pub at some point on the Saturday to prepare for the ride the next morning.  The remaining bunch at the pub can Kombi konvoy down to Brighton on the Sunday am to meet us when we arrive.

NB: we intend to ride this as a team ie together rather than individuals going hell for leather to achieve a particular time - it's all about doing it as a bunch, for a good cause and having fun!!

You'll have a great time - I did Manchester to Blackpool (65 miles) 10 years in a row for Wigan & Leigh Hospice and the office still does it every year - the feeling when they clap you over the line is brilliant.

I'm pretty sure that on the day Madeira Drive is closed to vehicles and parking, you would need to park nearby. There is a footpath from there to the Marina where you can park in the Asda car park for three hours. There is a multi storey there as well which you can get a Kombi into but not with the roof rack on.
On street parking is available but very expensive thanks to our green council!!

I did the ride three years ago and the car park at the very far end of Madeira drive was open but was expensive I'm advised. Jo , dropped me off at Clapham Common and drove straight to Brighton so she was there pretty early and maybe lucky to get a space.

I parked on Madeira drive last week and yes £5 for a couple of hours deem seem a little steep...

£5 is a but pricey, but remember, it's all part of doing the ride for a good cause.
