| We are going to ask for regular updates (and pictures) because we think it’s good to have a bit of a record and it all adds to the excitement :-) |

| .......... Personally I think Christmas is over rated and it should be skipped this year and jump straight to February, which should be far more exciting!
Now, where did I put my time machine?!?! ;-) |

Now, where did I put my time machine?!?! ;-) I'd start looking at campsites and locations you want to visit - they do get booked up early! Have a look through the recommendations here on the site. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Before we actually put a deposit on our very own Campervan the plan was to possibly hire a Camper next year and visit the West Coast of Ireland. Never been to Ireland and wanted to go for a while....... Maybe that’s a trip for Merlot :-D |

| It's always good to try before you buy . . .
. . . but a trip to Ireland sounds special and as you say maybe one for Merlot
Perhaps doo a little camping weekend in a hired Kombi somewhere local ________________________________________________________________________________ Proud winners of Spike's Trophy 2017 Scooby - Born To Run

| We have hired Campers previously and slept in them (also hired a bright yellow one for our wedding day) Our last trip was in a T5, but although it had all the mod cons, it didn’t have the charm of the T2s so that’s why we are buying one :-) We decided that life can be too short and you never know what is around the corner. This was going to be something we were going to do in retirement, but at the age of 45 we decided let’s pull the dream forward and enjoy it now. |

| Welcome to the family. Nice to have another Air-cooled van on the forum. Our Sadie is a 2004 Danbury air-cooled. It's a nice reliable engine which is easy to maintain.
My advice is to ensure you find a good garage to service your van. This will not only keep your van working properly but keep time in the garage down and costs as well probably.
There is also a Facebook group by the way. ________________________________________________________________________________ what is best in life ?

| Thanks for the welcome sundialsoft.
The good news is we are lucky to have a very good mechanic we have used for years in the road next to us :-)
I found the Facebook page and have already joined :-D |

| EXCITING DAY!!!!
We transferred half payment to Danbury today and it has been received.......
That means, job card goes to workshop this week and work should start next week and then we should hopefully have more of an idea about the collection date :-)
They are also going to take photos and send them via email as the work progresses so we have a photo “diary”............ Woooooohoooooo! :-D |

Life is indeed too short, last year we decided to maybe look into getting a camper next year, possibly If we could find a way to finance it. All that as you can see went out the window pretty quickly.

| You might want to ask Danbury to use some cavity protection this time round, before they put your BraziBay back together. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay | |

Yes. Anti corrosion treatment. Waxoyl for instance. ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Well, although we are still waiting, we have so many bits and accessories already!
When we get Merlot we really will be ready to go go go!
Biggest purchase (apart from Merlot) a drive away awning and today have received the JK cup holder and I think a thermometer is arriving today too. How exciting! :-D |
