After Tango had his Spaceroof fitted, I needed to find somewhere new for the rear speakers to go. Having discounted anywhere within the roof, I elected to go under the seat squab facing forward. That ought to fill the whole cabin nicely with sound.
Where to run the cabling of course was the question. So I decided to go underneath the BraziBay! Fortunately there is a rubber grommet dead centre, just under where the rear seat is located. Using that as the entry point, I fitted the speaker wires into their own plastic loom, which I then chased along the same route as the main VW loom, all the way up to the front, and up through behind the front panel.
I went for Alpine speakers and they don’t intrude much behind the fascia under the seat.
Audio testing takes place today!!

A few extra shots and the all important dimensions.
The speakers I used are Alpine SPG-17C2 - superb sound for £40.
Fabulous sound inside Tango now and Aircooled purrrfection to those we pass by!
Btw to prevent anyone catching themselves or anything on the screws holding the speakers in place, I covered them with the little rubber 'witches hat' style black grommets that would normally fit in the body panels of a classic Beetle. Popped some blutack inside them and then pushed them on. Job done.
