Staying on the road this winter?

I've just had the insurance renewal for my 03 Air cooled tin top through.

As this year has been so unpredictable in terms of use and access to the road and destinations, I am wondering whether to SORN, cover and forget for 5 months, or tough it out and possibly use it for some local 'recreational/exercise' trips.

Or possibly have my 2010 Wasser panel van on the road instead, finish the interior etc,

Anyone else having similar thoughts?

Scooby is "free range" and stays out in all weather.
We do use him for day trips over the winter months - often going to the new forest.
Consequently, we keep him taxed and ready to 'run' at any time
