Subject: Solar panel question Sun Jan 10, 2021 2:53 pm
Hi, Probably a bit of a bone question here, but I can’t find a definitive answer elsewhere:
If you install fixed solar panels for charging the leisure battery, does it still charge from EHU and when driving as well? Or do you have to sacrifice the other means of charging the battery?

No. Why should it? The charge provided by the solars is a subsidiary element of the set-up.

I’m not experienced with electrics at all. I didn’t think it would affect the current set up, just wanted to check.

Hi Glos263,
with the set up that we have, the solar panels are a parallel charging system, so both they and the charging while driving can happen in parallel (as required).
(that's parallel in the side by side meaning, rather than the electrical meaning, if you get what I mean! )
