Subject: Warriors Wembley Weekend Tue Aug 30, 2011 11:41 am
We've been darn sarf this weekend to watch Wigan Warriors beat Leeds Rhinos in the Challenge Cup Final.
We stayed at a Camping & Caravan Club site on the outskirts of Oxford and got the bus into Oxford then a train to Paddington and onwards to Wembley.
Obviously we enjoyed the result although after getting to 16-0 Leeds clawed their way back to 16-14 before we ran out winners at 28-18. A great match for the neutrals but I'd rather we'd put some distance between the two teams so I could have relaxed a bit.
It was our first trip to the new Wembley and I've got to say I was impressed. Easy to get a beer (or 3), plenty of toilets and great seating and view. Hopefully, we'll be back again sometime.
The site at Oxford was a bit rough and ready and the showers could do with an upgrade. I got almost as much water from the next shower cubicle as I did from mine!
There had been a spate of break-ins to vehicles the week before so I was a little nervous about leaving Absinthe but everything was fine when we got back.
Having a Go Outdoors at the entrance to the site is handy although somehow I managed to get stung on the leg through my jeans whilst in there. I assume it was a wasp but I didn't see it. Even worse was sitting in the back examining my leg with my jeans round my ankles when someone came over to look at Absinthe and wanted to ask questions. I think I got away with it!
On Sunday we stopped at Bicester Outlet Village on the way back. What a nightmare of a place on a BH weekend. We had to get on a park & ride bus to get there and ideally they'd have given us a random bag of items and taken our money at the drop off point to avoid the pain of having to troup around. (won't be doing that again!)
About to set off from the office.
Waiting for the kick off

I'm not a big fan of RaRa Rugby!

Hmmm. I've got say that the Rugby Yawnian guys are certainly bettter at dwarf throwing!
I don't think the 2011 RWC will go down in history as being a good one for England. Some of the behaviour was shocking.
It's the League players coming to Union that are the worst, for example Chris Ashton this weekend with his hair pulling. He should have left those tactics with your Wigan side
