Newbie Kombi owner

Hi to all, just bought a Brazilian 2006 aircooled T2 converted by Danbury with only 17,000 kilometres on the clock. Colour is white and azure blue, she has been professionally lowered and is fitted with empi alloys. Her name (given by previous owners) is Eva.

Given that I cannot upload photos directly to this site, can anyone recommend a public server to use and more importantly, how do I upload images? I have tried picasa several times without success but that is probably down to me!

The photo uploader for this site is a little tricky but you soon get the hang of it, there is a sticky on the top of the gallery section explaining what to do

Whoo hoo! Have managed to upload photo of Eva the campervan but it is displaying in the main message area, rather then a small pic in the profile area. Still got some learning to do I guess.

Nice. Looks to be in good condition.
To get a picture in your profile area you need to go to profile on bar at top of page and then go to avatar, it needs to be uploaded as 200x150 picsels in size

Eva looks like a sharp BraziBay. Did you get her via Snailtrail?

TimV must be sharp himself, as Eva did indeed come via Snailtrail. She has a one or two cosmetic things wrong with her - alloys are quite corroded and lacquer flaking off. Got a small dent and broken paint on the window edge of the drivers door, just before mirror fixing. There is some signs of surface rust (stains?) appearing under rear gutter area on bend where drain holes are and I suspect the leisure battery is duff.

If the rust is on the top part of the guttering then just rub it down to get rid of much of the rust a possible and then paint it with a brush using some white hammerite. It won't be seen and will protect no worries

Guttering rust stains are on underside, right on bend where drain holes are. One of the holes is blocked with paint so will break that out and treat inside of gutter with hammerite as you suggest. Will take a look in gutter to see what's going on.

I have just treated my underside guttering rust with vw candy white paint but hammerite would probably be best in the longer term.

You can always paint over white Hammerite with the Candy White if necessary.

I see Eva features in the October Camper & Bus feature on Snailtrail. In this day and age of technology I still don't understand why it takes so long for articles/photoshoots to actually appear in mags.
