| Hi guys. So finally getting into planning for this! I don't know if you already realise this, but I just phoned the campsite and coal BBQs / firepits etc are not allowed. Gas and electric "BBQs" are allowed. We will probably take our Cobb oven as it's not really coal!
Apparently they have communal coal BBQs all over the site that we can use.
cheers

Please spare some time this weekend for a quick check on things like tyre pressures including the spare, coolant levels, fan belt condition, oil levels, lights and those on trailers if they're coming too.
I will have various spares onboard especially for an Airbus so if any of the AquaBayers wish to do the same that would be great. Anyone know the right pressure for the spare?

| The same you personally use for fully loaded rear wheels, + a couple of pounds, carry a tyre gauge and adjust it down to the pressure you need relevant to where it is fitted. It's easier to let air out than have to pump it up in the dark and wet. | |

| set it the same as your rear tyres, if you need it on the front it's easy to let a little out, harder to put some in.

| Forecast is looking like low 20s C for the first few days of our trip. That suits me fine, although there may be some clouds and a little bit of rain. ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

| Been tinkering.
Load the trailer - job done.
Trailer/bike test - Oli got a new bike earlier this year which is significantly bigger than his previous one so I needed to test load with trailer and three bikes. It's tight, probably too tight, but with one wheel removed there's plenty of clearance. Job done.
Replace headlight bulbs - bought some of the extra bright head light bulbs ages ago and haven't gotten around to fitting them. Job done.
General maintenance 1 - while the headlights were out I gave the insides of the headlight surrounds a good clean and a generous dose of waxoyl. I did the same for the headlight trims and eye lids. Job done.
General maintenance 2 - while the waxoyl was out (and partly due to dropping a screw behind the front bumper) I also removed the front bumper, cleaned everything up, liberally covered everything in waxoyl and put it all back together. Job done.
General maintenance 3 - a while ago I fitted a couple of extra 12v sockets in the back, today I replaced the one that is not used much with a new dual USB socket. Job done.
Meanwhile, Mrs T has been packing clothes and bedding - now all ready for loading - and sorted out all non-perishable food stuffs and smaller misc camping kit and loaded everything.
Just perishables and a few other bits and we're done.
...5 days...

| Anyone got a spare set of levelling chocks we could borrow?
The T5 hired by our friends for France doesn't have any and it seems silly for them to buy them just for two weeks. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

| We are doing quite well with the packing, although Mr HH has full charge of Eddie's maintenance. My own gear is ready (have to work upto and including Friday) and impressively(for me) only 4 pairs of shoes/sandals, actually that can't be right...

If your heading down the A3 then you'll pass right by my place, you could pick them up onroute ________________________________________________________________________________ Ginger man without a ginger van

| That's great. We normally head down the M3 with the A3 as our diverted route if/when there are problems on the motorway. I wonder if @TimV might be kind enough to pick them up for us as he'll be coming down the A3 for sure...? ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

Fab! I'll let our friends know. BTW, our friends two boys have nick named the T5 "The Bat Van" - apparently for no other reason than its black. ________________________________________________________________________________ www.alpinegrovetouringpark.com Twitter: @AlpineGrove Facebook: facebook.com/alpinegrovetouringpark

Why don't we wait until we're there and put suggestions in? Then we'll need to be resourceful when the theme gets chosen! ________________________________________________________________________________ Max SportsKombi - The Bay Racer @brazilianvwbay

| Yeah - good thought. Elspeth only wants to try and put something together before leaving - but more fun to have to be resourceful once we get there. We are all soooo looking forward to getting away with the Krew - it's been a difficult last few months and the break can't come too soon. | |

I've checked the Campingaz website, and there is a stockist at Proxi just round the corner from the campsite.
