New Forest in Summer Empty
PostSubject: New Forest in Summer   New Forest in Summer EmptyTue Feb 23, 2016 5:21 pm

Having survived our first 'Overnighter' in "Bluey Louie" for the fabulous Goodwood trip, I'm now all fired up to book a proper summer holiday  bounce  I would like to stay in the New Forest , as I went there many many moons ago and would like to introduce my two teenage sons to the area. Has anyone any recommendations for sites in the forest? I would be looking at going in August?

With two teenage boys I would imagine you'll want something with plenty of activities.

I've not stayed there but have been recommended 'Sandy Balls Holiday Village' in Fordingbridge.

You could also look at Lytton Lawn in Milford on Sea. It's the site used for Dubs in the Forest and is well known to many forum members.

You could also try one of the many sites around Moors Valley country park near Ringwood, lots to do there too.

There are 2 Caravan club sites within the new Forest boundary. "Black Knowl"  and Centenary Park. I have stayed at both and found them to be well maintained and pleasant. If you need extra facilities like entertainment and swimming pools them Sandy Balls has all that but quite expensive. Just outside new forest is Merley Court

this is also quite nice and does have Swimming and food and drink available.
All are very good for cycling as they are very close to good cycle tracks.

Hope you enjoy it
