There are 20 pitches with EHU so we'll need to book in, to guarantee that we get one. When I speak to them I'll find out the best way for us to book but at this stage, (and I know it's a long time in the future) it would be useful if you could indicate if you would be interested in attending - I'll set up a Facebook event later when I have more info.
ONLINE BOOKING IS NOW AVAILABLE - CLICK HERE TO BOOK: WATERSIDE FARM BOOKING

Northern Chapter Meet – 23rd June 2017
Itinerary
Thursday 22nd June Some people are arriving on Thursday – we’ll be there and thought we could walk into Pooley Bridge in the evening to eat in one of the pubs, if anyone wants to join us. Friday 23rd June Weather permitting, we’ll be having a walk in the morning, if anyone wants to join us – probably along part of the Ullswater Way (up to the stone circle, then down into Pooley Bridge). For those arriving later we’ll be having a BBQ in the evening. Saturday 24th June We’re booked onto the Ullswater Steamers boat departing at 11.15 from Pooley Bridge. We’ll need to set off from the site at around 10.15-10.30 (I have to finalise our Group booking when we get to the ferry landing). The boat arrives at Glenridding at 12.15. The boat back from Glenridding is at 15.20, giving plenty of time for some lunch, maybe a beer and a potter round the village. It gets back into PB at 16.20 We’ll have the BBQ fired up again on Sat evening – hopefully Ian will have brought his guitar so we might have some live music over a few beers. Sunday 25th June We need to leave the site around 11.00 to get to Lowther Castle for 11.30-ish. I’ve pre-paid entry and I’ll ring them before we set off, so they’ll have someone to greet us and to let us into our own parking area in front of the Castle. We’re booked in on Sunday night so we’ll be leaving the trailer and event shelter on site until we get back from the Castle. If anyone else wants to leave anything to pick up later we can use our pitch. We won’t actually be staying overnight on Sunday, because our Board Meeting has been rearranged for the Monday, but we’ll probably be on site until early evening. We pass through the village of Askham on the way and there might be an opportunity for a photo opportunity, if we can get parked near the village green. The Castle has a decent café near the entrance which allows dogs, and another one in the woodland area, plus extensive grounds, and a great Adventure Play Ground. There’s also a shop on site. It’s a short drive to M6 junctions (North & South) from the Castle and everyone is free to leave when they’re ready. We’ll be heading back to the site to pack and to collect the trailer.

Ok everyone, I think I've found us a venue for the 2017 Northern Meet.
I've been trying to get a site in the Lake District, but it's been difficult as most of the won't take groups - mainly because they don't need to, as they get so many bookings throughout the year.
It's looks like I can get us in to Waterside House Campsite if we book early enough. I'm going to speak to them later this week and we'll take a trip up there to check it out.
From this video it looks ideal:
It's in the Eastern Lakes within easy reach of the M6: LOCATION

Were very interested Martin... two plus a little dog.
Our mates Andy and Alison are off skiing at the moment but ive just emailed them so hopefully they will be able to pick it up and ill let you know if/when they get back to me.
We've been up to the Lakes today to have a look at the site and a chat with the owners. They're a great bunch of people and told us they'd love to have us on site.
Towards the end of the season I'll make a block booking with them so it would be useful to get a handle on approximately how many vans will be attending.
I'm hoping we can have a Cruise on Ullswater, the usual BBQs and a walk into Pooley Bridge for a few beers. There's also the possibility of an open top bus ride through the Lakes.
The site hires rowing boats for those who fancy it and you can launch your own craft too (no jet skis, I'm afraid, Tim).
Please keep adding your name to this post if you intend to join us and I'll up date the first post as things change.

By the way, I've checked the date of the 2017 London to Brighton Cycle Ride and it looks like it's on 18th June so doesn't clash with the Northern Meet.

We had already booked in here before this came up as a possible Forum location. Just back from a three night stay. Busy when we arrived on Sunday and told extremely busy day, Saturday but quiet and relaxed Monday through to Wednesday. Hook-up pitches are large and there is an opportunity for non-electric but manicured grass pitches all along the very edge of the lake. Strangely the showers are in separate buildings from the toilets. Pooley Bridge has three pubs serving food and is reached in 20 minutes by path along edge of lake. A day ticket on the Ullswater Steamers from Polley Bridge took us on four different boats reaching Glenridding, Aira Force (waterfall) and Howtown where the hotel had great beer in a Snug public bar. We had been given a voucher for 'Afternoon Tea' which we took at the nearby Sharrow Bay Country House Hotel ( reputedly the creators of the first Sticky-toffee pudding).
Waterside is a good choice of a place to go as far as we are concerned

How lovely does that look - but don't think the timing will work for us sadly. Already put a deposit down on next year's Portsmouth/Santander/Portsmouth sailings

We're back from a trip to Waterside House Campsite on the shores of Ullswater (the site we're using for next year's Northern Chapter Meet) and you won't be surprised to see that there's a Blog:
