Subject: New Year - New Battery! Sun Jan 03, 2010 6:54 pm
So I loaded Max up on Christmas Day - all set to visit the relatives - turned the key and ..... click. The recent cold weather plus a number of short local journeys with EVERYTHING on, I'm talking heated screens, eberspacher, lights, wipers had taken its toll on the battery Max had when I got him. So I had to transfer all the stuff to Thunderbird No.1 and take it from there. 2 days later Max started of his own accord - I'm guessing a mild feed from the leisure battery had probably helped put a bit of charge back into the starter battery. However I don't know how old the original battery is - could be the original from the factory (Varta??) - but I decided to fit him up with a new one. As with the leisure battery I went to tayna.co.uk brilliant choice, great prices and VERY quick delivery.
I took the opportunity of having the old battery out to Waxoyl the battery tray area - a known weak spot on Bays - and then put the Numax battery in. £50 for a new 60amp unit including delivery and a 3 year warranty. Can't go wrong really can you.

Please can you let me know which model Numax battery you bought - I'm a bit confused by the choice.
Thanks

Thanks Tim, we've run our original battery into the ground in this cold weather, every start now has to be with the emergency charger, so I think it's time to spend some money.
