| A 1 definitely open (although seemed very slow from Leeming Bar to Catterick) and we are coming tomorrow!
Lilyvdub - which road are you taking, guys?
We normally go from York on A1 and then through Bedale, Leyburn, Reeth - but on Tuesday some roads in that area were flooded. What you think, Dalesman?
Can't wait really to get there!

| Try as I might I can't get my credulity neurons to come to terms with allusions to northeren - considering Yorkshire is 530 miles SOUTH of where I am! Have a good weekend all! | |

| By heck, it's a long way north I'm getting there, slowly. Just crossed the Lancaster canal and pulled into the services for a brew & petrol. | |

| As no doubt you are champing at the bit wanting to know how the Northern Chapter event is going, here are a few pics to wet your appetite. Only a few at this stage, as there is no mobile signal and, at great expense, I've made a 2hr round trip to the nearest point of modern civilisation to keep you happy. (OK, I was making the trip anyway and the expense is related to the boots I'm having made) Camp BraziBay Herriot country Fri evening 1 Fri evening 2 Danger! Man with axe | |

The weather was perfect on Saturday but heavy rain overnight and continuing Sunday morning meant the cruise down Swaledale had to be abandoned ________________________________________________________________________________ "You can check out any time you like but you can never leave"

| Geoff - if that beck next to us had continued rising we could have literally cruised down the Swale to Reeth today. What a nightmare drive back down the M6. I'm glad we didn't have to go as far as Chris (John/Sunny!)
Great pics from everyone so far. I didn't take many but I'll put them up when I get some time. I'm hoping to pinch some from others for my blog.
We need to get a date in for next year. Preferably a little earlier in the year.
Alison and I had a great time and the walk was a definite highlight, as was your late night tumbling trick, Geoff. A 9.9 from the Russian (hat wearing) judge! ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

Rained later.Agree with absinthe ,we need to get some dates to work around for next year,I will have a look around some sites and get some info over the winter break for some suggestions of where to go.Thanks to Northpoles for the great sausages lot of fun and very tasty,a first for me .and as for the toasted Brie ,that's on our menu now !!!! | I'd forgot about Geoff doing the back somersault - pity it wasn't earlier so more could have witnessed it and I wasn't as inebriated. Should have learned from Alison not to mix grape and grain. Remember to roll the brie in the grass before toasting for addded flavour! The mulled wine was a great warmer as the night grew colder - thanks North Poles

| Good to see everyone and sorry we were late for the walk! That little pub was great, a really inventive menu I think someone somewhere has photographic evidence! Here are our pics on the road towards to motorway And the sun split the sky as soon as we crossed the border - typical! | |

| Further South, JLS? It is intended as a Northern Chapter Meet after all - can't see it being in the Midlands...
To be fair, we did use the field on the southern side of the main road and not the more northerly one. Anyway, A@C already thinks this one was a southern meet... ________________________________________________________________________________ Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder
