2017 - End of Season Northern Meet - 13-15th Oct - EVENT CANCELLED

After 4 years at Masons for the Craven Arms Beer Festival, I think it might be time for a change for the end of season meet in 2017.
 
We stayed at a site called The Cud Life in Killinghall between Harrogate and Ripon earlier this year - see Blog here: THE CUD LIFE



I've been in touch with them and they'd love to have us - we can book the whole site which consists of 15 pitches:
 
We'd love you to come here, I'm just nipping out so haven't time to read the blog yet but will tonight, I love your blogs! We hire the site exclusively and are allowed 12 'events' per year which are different for planning as they are one off events and not caravan and camping rules, we have about 6 weekends taken already for next year (two of which are weddings!), the rest being family/friends groups.
 
We just charge an average of what we lose from having the campsite running as normal and then the guests split the cost between them and it must be 3 nights but that is what you mentioned. We work this out by an average of £30 a pitch for 15 pitches is £450 per night (I know we have 16 but we never use them all anyway!)
 
We would be happy to do it for £400 a night for you guys to have exclusivity as it sounds fab and I would love nothing more than seeing a field full of vw's!  You could have as few or as many as you like and we would provide the fire pit and wood for the two nights and also the big grill to go on top for you to use (we don't lend this out, its just for us normally!)
 
Let me know if this sounds ok, for 10 it would obviously be £40 a night but if there were more of you, the cost would obviously be less.

I've explained that we'd be staying on Fri & Sat nights and they've agreed to waive their 3 night rule. The cost is relatively high but we would have the benefit of the whole site, plus they will supply us with wood for the fire. If we got 15 vans it would cost approx £54 for two nights which I don't think is too bad. We had 14 vans initially booked this year so getting to 15 should be possible.

There's a coffee/cake shop on site (as well as a cookery equipment shop!), two pubs within walking distance (although not as close as the Craven Arms is to Masons) and a few nice walks in the area. It would be possible to get a bus into Harrogate for those who need retail therapy.


I've provisionally booked that weekend so maybe you could indicate if you'd be interested.

Are there ok toilets ?

I think it's worth checking the max No we could have, i.e.: do they have rules which would exclude say 18 vans as they have a specific pitch limit.

Regarding miles to the pub I will personally verify the actual non Yorkshire distance )

Time to broaden your horizons, Ian. The unisex arrangement is quite handy if you like to shower with another.

Am very impressed how organised you guys are... I'm still trying to juggle 21 days annual leave with everything we'd like to do next year , including this one I'm running at about -8 currently !!
