Saturday 24th March 2012, at 5.50am and Scooby is on his way to Volksworld via Tim’s
As can be seen whilst the road was clear there was a mist. Tallulah caught up with us along the way and we had our own mini convoy. After a coffee at Tim’s we set off for the show - the famous five, in convoy order were: Tim, Irishman, Kiteman, Scooby and Tallulah.
After some queuing we were eventually in and all lined up. We were blessed with blue skies and sunshine – it would be a good day.
It turned out to be a FAB day, with plenty of chat and interaction with the public. The free Brazilian coffee flowed, mopped up by the obligatory cakes and biscuits. With "time off for good behaviour" Scooby then went round the rest of the show. Saw this one Peppa and thought of you - if you had to have a splitty that is . . .
The Porsche Type 64 was at the show and to Scooby this looked really cool.
Not a bad design for 1939 construction with a top speed of 110mph (shock) However, as we went around the show some thing strange was occurring . . . Whether it was a bouncy castle . . .
. . . or a custom tent . . .
. . . or an old splitty . . .
. . . or a new beetle . . .
A Blue Theme appeared to be “very much in” this year and everywhere Even Danbury got in on the act with a blue interior on a new Scooby Blue Kombi
Scooby had some bits and pieces especially for the show, think these cover it
Towards the end of a FAB day we had a group photo session - we like this one.
As the show started to close we then had to pack up and then queue to get out again! So one final pic
Had a wicked day - enjoyed it all. Great Show – Great Company – Great Brazi Bays

Great to meet you on Saturday, and the others too. Newton Commercial relieved us of some hard earned for some door cards and gave us a decent show discount plus a bit extra off as a Forum discount.
The vans looked great lined up together and did is all proud.
Looking forward to meeting you all again during the year.
Martin and Alison.

I'm crashed out on the sofa, laptop in hand, beer on the table, but I have to say how proud I was of the Kombis and everyone over the weekend. We really did a great job of showing how enthusiastic we are about our New T2s. Thank you if you came along as part of the display or just to stop by and have a natter. Our presence is most definitely being felt on the scene and I think judging by a lot of the reaction and questions we were receiving, we can expect to see the membership climb considerably over the coming season.

Interesting Tim. Was this interest from existing "old" bay owners or from prospective new owners? I still see, from my various trips around 'net, an incredible amount of prejudice against Brazils and just wondered whether this prejudice is likely to diminish or whether it's just new campers who want something a little more reliable but still with charm.
But either way, interest can only help future values :-) Which ever way you look at it, it still costs a lot to buy into a new Brazil.

The prujudice out there is just a select few. I've never had or seen any when I've been out and about.

From both old and prospective.
The prejudice has been discussed before so I'm not going to go over old ground. However I can summarise it for you in a few words: keyboard warriors, jealousy, misinformation and narrow mindedness.

So here's a selection of pix of the weekend from me. First up, early Saturday morning, queuing to get into the display area:
Max, Mish, Ginger, a cheeky T4, Scooby.
Before the floodgates opened, betwixt the Brazilian flags and adorned with colour coordinated helium balloons: Max, Mish, Ginger, Scooby and Tallulah, all looking mighty sharp.
Heaving!! You can just about make out the Brazilian flags over to screen right in the centre of the crowd - it was a cracking spot.
So can you see some/all of Max's additions?
Towards the end of Saturday's show, time for some group shots in the fabulous sunshine.
Sunday's display shaped up like this. 3 new entrants between Max and Tallulah.
Max, The Van, KC, Mushroom and Tallulah. Due to some over-inflation on Saturday, the helium supply ran short on Sunday am so some of us had to huff and puff the balloons into life - all after getting up an hour earlier!
So let's get some mugshots in:
JLS 62 and son
KC
t24fun
Tallulah ... oh and some bloke who keeps on turning up at these gigs ....
Plus we had a visit from a campervanning/cooking type who likes to appear on the telly and write books about it all....
We've made Martin Dorey an honorary member of our club, because his Classic Bay has a Kombi tailgate! I bet there's more Brazilian parts in there too, without them being obvious. Good luck with the new book Martin!

Wow - great photos Tim and Scoobs - and brilliant to see the mug shots too - it sort of makes the posts come to life when you know what the person looks like. The Kombis and display looked amazing - We'll have to follow the same format at Dubs in the Forest in a few weeks time. I will even sort out a brazilain flag too - that was an inspired touch! Robin has been sulking all weekend coz he couldn't go out an play with his mates! - but me and Batgirl had to play in a County Tennis match this afty - and got seriously burnt in the process! LOL Well done again all you guys - top banana! (oh Tim - like the new cool black stripe on Max - frames the lower part of Max nicely.)

Super pics everyone, we've got a few too although they're mostly 'more of the same', shots of the BraziBay line up over the two days basking in the glorious sunny weather.
So, rather than pics, I have a couple of quotes worth sharing:
"WOW! Look at those amazing new ones!", anon x10, heard throughout the 2 days in various guises.
"Only a 1.4l engine, that must be slow?"
Response from me: "Well, it's not about the speed although she'll do 75mph and return 30-35mpg"
- this prompted an amazed look on the visitors face and a serious conversation with his wife as they walked away.
And my personal favourite:
"Shouldn't these be in the show'n'shine?"
Response from another visitor looking around at the same time: "No, they actually use these ones and camp in them!"
Great to meet everyone, whether displaying or visiting. I'm sure the forum membership will as a result of the show as there was so much interest and hope to see you all again very soon!

Funnily enough I had 2 separate conversations about the engine size / capabilities along those lines! "Well it does 70mph comfortably and can do 80 if need be. Typically we get 35mpg at cruising speed"......general disbelief all round.
It wasn't until I was driving home last night though, and saw the MANY bays / splitties lining the hard-shoulders of the M25 & M23 in various states of collapse, that I really felt pleased with my van choice!
Smug? moi?
